Born on March 24, 1977, American actress and film producer Jessica Chastain has several awards and accolades under her belt. She is best known for her appearance in the TV show ‘Take Shelter’ (2011), and for films ‘Interstellar’ (2014), ‘The Martian’ (2015), ‘It Chapter Two’ (2019), ‘A Most Violent Year’ (2014), ‘Miss Sloane’ (2016), and ‘Molly’s Game’ (2017). An alumnus of Juilliard School, she made her acting debut with the stage play ‘Juliet’ in 1998. As of 2021, she has appeared in at least six theater performances including ‘The Heiress’ (2012) which was a Broadway production. She made her TV debut with the show ‘Dark Shadows’ in 2004, and has appeared in at least 17 TV shows as of 2021, including ‘Law & Order: Trial by Jury’ (2005-2006) and ‘Saturday Night Live’ (2018). She made her film debut in 2008 with ‘Jolene.’ As of 2021, she has appeared in more than 20 Hollywood films. She is the recipient of one Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. In 2012, she was included in the Top 100 most influential people list of the ‘Time’ magazine. She married the Italian count Gian Luca Passi de in 2017 and the couple has two children. She identifies herself as a feminist and has been vocal about gender discrimination and gender disparity in Hollywood.
